Project Overview

This project aims toward fundamental research into greehouse gas (GHG) detection, capture, utilization, and storage. It combines a group of chemists and a physicist with expertise in optical sensing and the physical and chemical properties of GHGs. For example, there is currently a huge need for large GHG (methane) sensing for reducing the impact of fugitive emissions from energy production, transport, and storage. There is also a large effort aimed toward converting, eliminating, or indefinitely storing CO2 from energy production. The research team has a focus on fudamental research and development in these areas.
